Legion

NO SPOILERS

Continuing the cultural trend with Avatar, Book of Eli and now, Legion, we are presented with the wrath of God.  Michael(Paul Bettany) disobeys orders to kill Charlie's(Adrianne Palicki) baby and that's where the story is focused on.  Survival against angels controlling humans which sounds like a decent idea especially with some of the talent on board like Bettany himself and Dennis Quaid, but the writing was so poor that this movie gives more laughs than anything.  A crawling grandma while saying, "YOUR BABY WILL BURN!" Are we supposed to react with intensity and sit on the edge of our seats?  There are also unbelievable moments that just makes you shake your head in shame.

Legion dives into religion where you'll end up with questions such as, "I wonder what Satan thinks of all of this?" or "What Michael does is like Lucifer and...(you'll understand after watching the movie)."  Questions?  Laughs?  Just exactly what is Legion?  It is supposed to be a mix of fantasy, horror, action and thriller.  It gets two of these right and add comedy to that.  Fantasy without a doubt and action with all the guns shooting off.  Scott Stewart may have dropped the ball on this one, but take a shot at it if you are just looking for a pure entertaining movie.  Just don't look to deep into things even though for a religious movie, that's a self-given.

SCORE: 5/10
